As most of you know my oldest started Kindergarten this past August. She started off perfectly and within
2 months was reading a few words here and there from our books picked to read
during our "reading circle". Shortly after that we soon realized we couldn't spell out words in front
of her anymore (I know us moms are soooo guilty of it!) This past Christmas I tested her. She kept asking for one of her presents early so I told her if she could read what I wrote she could have it. "Hello Kitty Jewelry Box" written in all
caps to test her ability. A few sounding outs, and she nailed it.
the same thing in mind, to read! I am so addicted to buying books for my girls, and yet I am glad I am.
Reading to a child opens their imagination, and since we started at such an early age for her
it made her first year at "big girl school" so much easier on her. Today she came home from school, headed straight to her room to find another read, and announced she has read all of her books. This fun shoot was her idea. and the fist in the air is her "I CAN READ" pose! <3
